DESCRIPTION OF RECORD:

Photo & note. Photo of a thatcher shown working on a thatched roof. Note refers to a call from a Mrs Hayward with the statement that the thatcher is Bill Rose who worked in the Fordingbridge area, she will phone again after talking to her The Haywards have been thatchers in the New Forest for over 300 years. Later footnote says 'Miss Hiscock - Mr Rose livid at North Ripley later moved to Eastleigh to be River Keeper to Major Mac Donald. Picture at Cat & Fiddle early 1960s'
